The Ability Hub is a non-profit, charitable, community organization. Started in 1991 as the North Saskatchewan Independent Living Centre (NSILC) and is one of 24 organizations across Canada established to empower those with disabilities with the education and resources they need to live independently. NSILC re-branded to The Ability Hub on October 1, 2022 to better communicate that this organization provides a network of resources, information, and connection.

We provide education, empowerment and connect people to the services or resources they need. At base, we are a community resource for anybody with a self-identified disability.

We know that our programs are only as good as who runs them. That’s why at least 51% of those who manage, and operate, our organization live with disabilities. We want our programs to be rooted in understanding, and guided by genuine community need.

We work with all people that have self-identified disabilities. Our focus is building an inclusive community and set of programs. So come by. Chat with us. Learn more about what we do and why we do it.

We also want to educate and support anybody who wants to take specific action to make society more inclusive and accessible. If you’re a small-business owner, with questions on how to make your business more accessible—come by! We’re happy to shed some light on the subject.
